Rudi grew up in Germany, where he studied the interaction of lipids with proteins in Biophysics at Berlin’s Humboldt University. After moving to Montreal, he obtained his Ph.D. at McGill University (in conjunction with Humboldt University) investigating the regulation of eicosanoid synthesis by oxidative stress. Although maintaining HPLC in the lab might have been great training for a career as a plumber, Rudi instead became a DMPK scientist at Charles River Laboratories in Montreal. With his experience in DMPK, Rudi brings a different perspective to the team by looking at the effects between the body and the drug. As the VP of External Scientific Affairs and Business Development, Rudi liaises with consultants and CROs and pursues strategic opportunities.
Rudi not only enjoys the science of pharmacology but also the sweet science of boxing. As a father of three, he doesn’t go into the ring too often but instead gets his punches in by sparring over scientific questions.
